This is a classroom block for African Dream Academy. The roof structure allows for ventilation via the Venturi effect and also shades from the sun directly beating down upon the classroom ceiling. Tall windows provide for natural cross ventilation as well. In the middle as a "breakout space", a space for congregation, outdoor teaching or playing this space will vary in placement along the block. Some blocks will contain a restroom for the students on the end, as is the case in the above rendering. This space allows for the block to maintain its own identity within the school. Each block will have room for 160 students in one grade, there will eventually be one block each for grades K-12. African Dream Academy's vision is to provide a space which will be a step up from the classrooms currently present in Liberia which provide a very poor quality learning environment.
